Installing Cutenews

A Blogging System

Step One: Open your FTP and create a new folder and name it Blog or something. I would use the name Blog.


Step Two: Open up your Blog Folder. Dont do anything with it yet.



Step Three: Go to The Cutenews Site and download the latest verson. Then when it opens in Winrar extract to one of your folders you already have.



Step Four: When you are done doing that go back to your FTP and your "Blog" folder there should already be opened up. Go to the right side where all your documents are and open up the folder you saved the cutenews in. Then bring that whole folder down and upload it to the blog folder in your FTP.

Step Five: Once its all uploaded, leave it the way it is. You might have to chmod to 777 if it does not say writable (see pop-up in step seven)



Step Six: Once you are done that go to blog. The url should be something like this: http://yoursite.com/Blog. Then Click on the cutenews button.



Step Seven: When you opened it up it will say a bunch a stuff and you keep on clicking the proceed button. One page will have the folders you needed to chmod. If all the folders say writeable then you proceed. If not, go back to your FTP and chmod the folders you need to back to the original mode. The page should look like this:

Step Eight: You will get to the signup page. Its easy, just sign up like you would to something else. Click HERE too see what it looks like.


Step Nine: There you go! You have cutenews!! If it doesent work, look back to see if anything was done wrong. If you did it right, you will go to your main page. On the top it says "Add News". Add your first post and there. You can add custom smilies. Go to options > Edit Templates to change colours and stuff. And that should be it!! Hope everything works out!
